Armadillo skull flower? I thought I’d try a different number of skulls arranged around a mandala. They sure do look like petals of a flower. Armadillo skull is the prompt for today’s Inktober drawing from a list by Instagrammer @book_polygamist. I’ve also used the tangle pattern crescent moon from the list by @havepen_willdraw.
I used Autodesk Sketchbook Pro along with a Microsoft Surface Pen and Surface Studio as my tools.
I’m also enjoying using these grungy texture backgrounds, of which I am altering the colours as needed.
I can’t believe that Inktober is nearly over; just four more days remain. I’ll reflect on this year’s experience with my last Inktober drawing.
They look like chrome petals ! I would have never guessed armadillo skulls! I love the texture big too! I never could get the hang of the tools you’ve used, very cool, looks awesome!

I’m glad you like the mandala.
The tools I use are just like drawing on paper, but with bells on! The screen of my computer is the paper and the digital pen is my pen, pencil, brush or other tool all in one. Digital art has opened up ways of working for me that I think would’ve been near impossible for me with traditional media.
Autodesk Sketchbook is a free program/app for Windows and Apple, it’s really good quality and it’s available for phones, tablets and laptops/desktops. There’s lots of tutorials out there on youtube, however I like to discover what it can do for myself – too much information overwhelms me.
Thank you for your comment, and all the best wishes to you, Angela.
