Well, the last day or three have been filled with arty pursuits, as well as looking into plantlore, folklore and superstition, to name but a couple of things. It struck me that a good use of my skills would be to create the images to illustrate the plants I’m writing about. And that would be a good thing as I spend far too long doing abstract and very stylised art! Mind you, the first four illustrations of rosebay willowherb, ferns, beech and sycamore have been done very quickly.
I also finished another piece of abstract art, which can be seen here. Some of the colours are a tad brighter or more ‘solid’ than I started out to do, but … it all kind of works.
Art certainly brings me a sense of contentment when I do it, and is a valuable coping activity when I’m not feeling bright and breezy, though I do go through periods where I totally lack inspiration …
